ABOUT WISHING TREE HOUSE
Wishing Tree House is a creative retreat. It is a home as well as a creative hub, for artists to come and work on their projects. Founder Glenys Jacques is an artist, teacher, psychotherapist, and facilitator who established Wishing Tree House to support local women to have a space to work on their creative practice.

Glenys did her first degree in English and Ceramics at Leicester University. She then taught in London schools during the 80's, setting up girl's project groups in Hackney. Due to the psychological and domestic pressures on girls, she re-trained as a psychotherapist at Metanoia with an MSc from Middlesex University. She then set up a practice for young women, couples and groups. Glenys also completed an MA at Brighton University in Film and Sequential Design and has made several films, which have won awards from the BFI. She is committed to community support and engagement, and providing workshops for women who are excluded from the mainstream.
